This Week's Speaker
Georgia Milton Sheats, CEO, Special Olympics of Georgia

Join us this Friday, January 11 to hear from Georgia Milton Sheats, CEO of the Special Olympics of Georgia (SOGA). You can join in person at LeMeridien or via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89796844807

Georgia has been SOGA's CEO since 1999.  Over the years the organization has grown in number of sports, competitions, athlete participation and volunteer participation.

Georgia oversees many Special Events such as the Marlow’s Tavern Golf Classic, the Bob Busse Memorial Golf Classic, the Polar Plunge event at Lake Acworth organized by Law Enforcement Officers, the Duck Pluck and the Annual Clay Shoot to name a few.

SOGA currently hosts four State Games -  in January in Marietta, in May at Emory University, in October in Valdosta as well as the 4th State Games in October in Gainesville, GA.

Dunwoody Rotary is a long-time support of Special Olympics of Georgia. In November, we provided volunteers for SOGA's Basket Ball Skills and Competition event.

Rotaract Club of Bay County, Florida Set to Grow and Serve

Our own past RID Robert Hall couldn't be prouder of his grandson, John Robert Lovelace, Charter President of the newly formed Rotaract Club of Bay County, drawing from Florida State University's Panama City campus and the Gulf State College campus. This week is pledge week and the club is out to recruit new members.
